Robert Jenrick has told the BBC his defection from the Conservatives to Reform UK is not about personal ambition and will “unite the right”.

In an exclusive interview with Laura Kuenssberg, he said he made the final decision to defect “over Christmas”, adding he “agonised” over the move.

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch said she’s not worried about further defections and the Conservative Party is “stronger” without Jenrick.
