Jan. 6 was a dark day for democracy. Trump is a loser who refused to concede the election despite no evidence of fraud, all while raising hundreds of millions of dollars from loyal supporters. Mike Pence did the right thing. That’s what Vivek wrote in his book last September. He also correctly condemned conservatives for embracing a victimhood mentality under Trump. He’s changed his tune and view recently. It was a smart play. Conservative media and right-wing Twitter are completely captured by Trump and his goons. So long as you say the right words, you can become a MAGA champion overnight. The irony is that Vivek was closer to the truth than not when he condemned Trump for lying to his supporters, ripping them off, and, as he wrote, taking “a page from the Stacey Abrams playbook.” “But while Trump promised to lead the nation to recommit itself to the pursuit of greatness, what he delivered in the end was just another tale of grievance, a persecution complex that swallowed much of the Republican party whole.” – Pedro Gonzalez (see below)
