Renowned rapper and Hollywood actor Ice Cube, also known as O’Shea Jackson, has recently attracted significant attention with his bold statement urging black Americans to reconsider their political allegiance to the Democratic Party.
Ice Cube made a notable appearance on the Full Send Podcast, hosted by Kyle Forgeard and Steiny Steinberg. His commitment to advocating for change within the Black community has gained recognition, as he actively works towards bridging the divide between politicians and grassroots movements. One of his noteworthy endeavors is the policy proposal document titled “Contract with Black America.”
In 2020, Ice Cube faced criticism for his collaboration with then-President Trump on a plan specifically designed to address the needs of black Americans.

In response to the backlash, Ice Cube took to Twitter, where he stated, “Every side is the Darkside for us here in America. They’re all the same until something changes for us. They all lie and they all cheat, but we can’t afford not to negotiate with whoever is in power or our condition in this country will never change. Our pursuit of justice transcends political affiliations.”
During the interview on the Full Send Podcast, Kyle Forgeard raised the issue of the criticism Ice Cube faced as a prominent Hollywood figure due to his association with Trump.
Ice Cube provided an explanation, stating, “I want to clarify that I have never pledged my support to either Trump or Biden. My primary focus has been on the ‘Contract with Black America,’ a comprehensive document I created to address the various issues we believed contributed to the unrest following George Floyd’s tragic killing. I released the document, and both Republicans and Democrats expressed interest in discussing it with me. According to Ice Cube, the Republicans demonstrated an interest in implementing certain provisions outlined in the Contract, while the Democrats initially overlooked his proposal until after the election.
“The Republicans approached me, expressing their desire to incorporate some aspects of the Contract into their proposals. I made it clear that the document was available for anyone to use in any manner they deemed appropriate. Whether for educational purposes, augmenting it with additional ideas or paragraphs, or utilizing it to effect legislative change, I welcomed its usage. I also met with the Democrats, who indicated their agreement with 90% of the contents and expressed their intention to engage in further discussions after the election.”
