Attorney Alan Dershowitz joins Glenn to break down why he believes the third indictment against former president Donald Trump “doesn’t satisfy the ‘banana republic test.'” He explains why he doesn’t believe the government will even be able to prove what Trump is convicted of — essentially, that he lied about the 2020 election. But Whether or not Trump believed what he claimed, Dershowitz argues, he SHOULD be protected under the First Amendment: “Donald Trump has the right to protest and be wrong in his protests.” However, Dershowitz also explains the one thing that could sway the case in the opposite direction: It’s being tried in Washington DC, not a purple state.
Alan Dershowitz sat down with Fox News to talk about Trump’s legal prospects. He said Trump would likely be convicted, but then the conviction would be overturned by the Supreme Court, essentially because it’s bullshit novel legal theory they are trying to force into the 14A box. The Supreme Court will rule it unconstitutional, because there was no actual speech to defraud an election or interrupt congressional procedure. there are no actions he took. No one is prepared to testify that there was.
You are allowed to contest an election. You are allowed to doubt the results of an election. This is America, not North Korea. Even the deep state put $25 million into a 3 1/2 year investigation into the integrity of the 2016 election, based on a fake dossier that they planted to exploit the FISA courts. But that future SCOTUS ruling friends, will give the deep state ammo to pack the court, which is the only institution not run by communists that is holding our country together.
Ultimately, packing the court with Communists like Sotomayor is the goal. The sitting President of the United States taking out his competition in the middle of an election season is literally something Putin has done. The DOJ works directly for the President. They are not their own branch of the government. This is egregious and unconstitutional and everyone involved knows it, which is why they will stop at nothing, and change the rules when they have to, to put Trump’s head is on a spike permanently. – Redheaded Libertarian
