    French Public Calls for Political Revolution: Support Grows to End Fifth Republic

    France is ready for real revolution. And Not to the liking Of the WEF and Globalists

    As social unrest and division persist in France, a recent survey reveals that two-thirds of the population would favor the end of the Fifth Republic, which has governed the country since 1958. The survey conducted by Ifop and Fiducial indicates that 67 percent of respondents support the establishment of a Sixth Republic with a new constitution based on a parliamentary system and proportional representation. Currently, France is the only European Union member without some form of proportional representation, leading to feelings of exclusion among citizens and a perceived disconnect between the public and political elites in Paris.

    The Fifth Republic, established by Charles de Gaulle, is the second-longest-lasting republic in France. However, growing political instability and the need for meaningful representation have soured public sentiment toward the current system. Critics argue that the lack of proportional representation has contributed to the instability witnessed in the past decade, prompting frequent street protests to influence government policies.

    While some protests, such as the Yellow Vest movement, have achieved success in pressuring the government, recent demonstrations against pension reforms failed to produce the desired outcome. This has contributed to a sense of political alienation among the middle and working-class citizens who feel that their voices are better heard through street actions rather than the electoral system.

    A shift to proportional representation could result in increased influence for figures like Jean-Luc Mélenchon of the left and Marine Le Pen of the right. Both the far-left and far-right of French politics align in supporting such a measure. Le Pen suggests a split proportional system where two-thirds of lawmakers would be elected based on a popular vote, while the remaining third would be awarded to the party victor to prevent instability.

    Implementing a new system of government may seem distant, as Emmanuel Macron’s second term extends until 2027. However, Macron’s ability to complete his term is uncertain amid a challenging summer characterized by ongoing unrest. Macron previously requested 100 days to implement reforms and regain public trust following widespread protests and riots related to the cost of living crisis and pension reforms. Though labor union-led protests have somewhat subsided, they have been replaced by more destructive riots fueled by racial tensions after the police killing of an Algerian teenager.

    The recent riots, marked by over 1,000 burned buildings, 5,600 destroyed vehicles, and over 3,300 arrests, highlight the simmering ethnic tensions in France. In 2021, a letter signed by former French generals warned of increasing radicalization and potential civil war arising from multiculturalism among migrant communities.

    As Macron’s 100-day timeframe approaches its end, the challenge of restoring order in France persists. The country seems to be caught in a cycle of perpetual revolution, reminiscent of Jacques Mallet du Pan’s warning in 1793 that “like Saturn, the Revolution devours its children.”

    While the fate of the current system and the prospects of a Sixth Republic remain uncertain, the survey results reflect a strong desire among the French public for political change and a more inclusive democracy that addresses their concerns and aspirations.
